The Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification for individuals who specialise in planning the preparation of site and work activities and planning the lifting activities using cranes and/or lifting equipment to demonstrate their competence.

The Level 5 NVQ Diploma Controlling Lifting Operations is aimed at candidates that undertake the duties of a of Lift Planner / Appointed Person – i.e. those individuals that are responsible for planning the execution and safety of the lifting operation.
In their day to day role candidates will analyse, calculate and specify a procedure and detail the method of executing the lifting operation, confirming both good practice and regulatory requirements are met.
The Level 5 NVQ Diploma Controlling Lifting Operations is for Appointed Persons/Lift Planners that currently hold the CPCS Red Card who are required to upgrade to the CPCS Blue Card.
